Our Mission: Nourishment With Dignity

In Honour of Dr. Gordon L. Diewert

Dr. Gordon L. Diewert believed that education unlocks human potential — and that hunger should never stand in the way of a student’s future. A dedicated educator and community builder, he championed practical solutions that empowered individuals with dignity and opportunity.

The Foundation established in his name continues that work by building a sustainable, stigma‑free food security system for post‑secondary students.

Through our partnership with Cocendo, we enable:

  • Local merchants, employers, and individuals to contribute effortlessly
  • Students to receive support through digital grocery cards — not handouts
  • Institutions to benefit from automated funding with minimal administrative burden

We are launching in Metro Vancouver and expanding across Canada. U.S. college communities will be served through future compliant partnerships.

Charitable Donations

90% of every donated dollar goes directly to student grocery support.

10% sustains essential charitable operations — including accounting, compliance, audit readiness, and governance — ensuring the Foundation remains transparent, accountable, and nationally scalable.

Cocendo Program Revenue

For every eligible transaction processed through Cocendo:

$1.00 flows to the Foundation to fund student grocery support.

$0.50 sustains Cocendo’s technology, merchant network, and platform operations — enabling a seamless, scalable system that turns everyday commerce into community impact.

Governance

All charitable assets are held exclusively by the Gordon L. Diewert Foundation, an independently governed Canadian charity. The Foundation maintains full direction and control over all charitable funds, ensuring compliance, transparency, and integrity across every Cocendo‑supported program.
