Fund Allocation

Charitable Donations

• 90% — Direct student grocery support (digital grocery credits)
• 10% — Essential operations: CRA compliance, accounting, audit readiness, governance

Cocendo Merchant Revenue

• $1.00 per eligible transaction — Flows to the Foundation for student grocery support
• $0.50 per eligible transaction — Sustains Cocendo’s platform and merchant network

Endowment Income

Investment returns fund ongoing scholarships and student programs. The Foundation has supported students at Simon Fraser University (SFU) for over 40 years through the Gordon L. Diewert Scholarship.

Governance Structure

All charitable assets are held exclusively by the Gordon L. Diewert Foundation and governed by an independent board of directors comprising educators, alumni, and community leaders.

While Cocendo provides technology, merchant network access, and platform operations, it holds no charitable assets. The Foundation maintains full legal and operational control over all charitable activities and funds.
